Intranet Process, Planning & Development

Step 19: Testing (large group)

Large Group Testing should occur when you are reasonably sure the Project Scope Document's promises have been met. This means that expectations regarding its appearance, usability and technical functionality should all have been delivered upon. If this is the case, schedule a presentation of the intranet site to all stakeholder groups and review the developed intranet. Any changes that were deferred should be discussed at this point, and appropriate action should be taken.

Unless approval to launch the intranet is given at this meeting (possible, but unlikely), provide the stakeholder group with the test URL on the live server and ask them to send you comments, feedback and suggestions within a defined time frame. Make changes as necessary and ask for approval to launch the site.

Make sure to allow time after testing and before approvals for the development team to fix any bugs and address other issues which may have arisen during testing.
